Steven will be three months old on Wednesday...I can't believe it! Time has simply flown by. It seems like only yesterday I was itching to go into labor and now I'm headed back to work. :(
Every day is a new adventure with him. We have survived his first ear infection this past week. I didn't even realize he had one. He was a little congested and he threw up his 10 o'clock bottle so I called the doctor and they had me come in. His left ear was infected. We caught it early though, and he never ran a fever or showed any signs of being in pain, so we were lucky. I just hope it's not the beginning of a trend.
He's sleeping like a champ at night. We're still messing around with his bedtime, but right now he's going to bed between 7:15 and 8 and sleeping through until between 6:15 and 6:45...he apparently doesn't enjoy snoozing in the a.m. like his mom, so it's been quite the adjustment for me to have to get up that early. But i'm not about to complain, since i don't have to get up in the middle of the night anymore. He's struggling with his naps right now. He's reluctant to sleep more than about an hour at a time, but everything I've read says that should start to regulate in the next month or two, so I guess i'll just be patient for now. Which is hard because if you know me, you know there isn't anything I like better than a predictable schedule.
He has rolled over twice, but I think it was accidental, as he hasn't repeated the trick again. He's starting to bat at the toys on his activity mat and has even managed to grab on to them a couple of times, which he thinks is pretty neat. When he's awake, he's a man in motion, which is why some of the pictures are blurry...it's hard to catch him being still unless he's asleep.
As I mentioned in the beginning, i'm headed back to work this week (of course, lucky me that Andrew is in Little Rock this week). Part of me is looking forward to it, but of course a part of me is dreading having to leave him. Thankfully we have found a great sitter who will keep him at her house, so he doesn't have to go to daycare. And the Chamber has been great to me, allowing me to work more flexible hours. So all in all, I think it's going to be just fine.
I've posted some of the latest and greatest pictures in Gallery 21.
And now, he's waking up from a nap so we're off to take a walk...still trying to burn off my leftover baby fat! :)
